The Veladail Collection – our commitment to the environment
Our collection of two hotels and a golf club are firmly committed to environmental
protection, sustainability and carbon management, and we are working towards becoming
a carbon neutral company.
We are in many ways working to ensure our properties impact on the environment is
continually reviewed and managed, that we support local purchasing and communities, and
that we consider our carbon and environmental impact in all that we do.

1. Comply with all applicable environmental legislation and strive to follow best
environmental practices where possible.
2. Help to protect the environment by preventing and minimising our carbon output

- Using environmentally friendly methods of transport wherever possible
- Encourage our guests and suppliers to do the same
- Grow our own food and purchase locally to reduce food miles
- Reduce our paper usage by 25%
- Introduce energy saving initiatives across all areas to reduce energy consumption by a minimum of 10% in the first year.

3. Develop our own on site fruit and vegetable garden at Down Hall by Feb 2008, with
the aim of producing a minimum of 25% of produce within two years.
