We're a family friendly hotel located in Hatfield Heath, Hertfordshire, not far from Essex, close to Stansted airport and Central London.
The hotel is set in 110 acres of woodland and parkland, so there is lots of space for your children to run around. We have lots and lots of fun activities on site for the whole family to take part in and if you want some peace and quiet there is plenty to keep the kids occupied while you relax.
For those cold and rainy winters, you may not want to go outside, so fear not, as indoors there's still plenty to do at this family friendly hotel as we have:
a games room with a full size snooker table
a 10 metre indoor heated pool
some fabulous board games
a Wii (limited availability)
For Dining - We also have a fabulous restaurant for the whole family to enjoy a meal together. The Grill room offers a children's menu - with favourites such as seasonal melon with orange segments or corn on the cob for starters, with Fresh pasta, plaice or salad, followed by yoghurt, fruit or ice cream.
A children's menu has also been specially created for our gourmet picnics (served April - September)

You can enjoy a wonderful family day out shopping at either Bluewater which is 37 miles drive from the hotel or Lakeside which is 30 miles drive from the hotel
Family friendly packages
Children up to the age of 12 are welcomed to Down Hall for an additional £15.00 Bed & Breakfast per child and can be added to any rate plan (based on up to 2 children sharing a room with parents (excluding fine dining packages).
If Baby sitting is required, there is a local agency we work with.
