COVID-19 Hygiene Policy

Dear guests, 

Please note that the hotel is now fully open. The safety of our guests and team members remains our highest priority and we have been busy implementing additional safety measures throughout all areas of our business.

Down Hall Hotel, Spa & Estate

  • An enhanced cleaning program focusing on “High Touch Point” will remain. 
  • Cash will not be accepted, hotel guests can charge incidentals to the room account, which must be settled by Credit or Debit Card.
  • AA “COVID Confident” and Visit Britain “We’re Good to Go” accreditation schemes in place 
  • All bedrooms are cleaned to the highest standard. Bedroom linen and towels will be washed in excess of 60°c.
  • Room Service will be available to residents once Restaurant and Bars are closed.
  • Reservations required for all Lunch, Afternoon Tea, and Dinner bookings.
  • Diners will be encouraged to make use of outdoor space when the weather allows. 
  • Spa Therapists will be wearing masks throughout your treatment.
  • Treatment rooms will be thoroughly sanitised between each guests session
  • Our Wet Spa area will be restricted to 6 guests at any one time – this is bookable at an extra charge for a two-hour session.
  • Events will be held in larger than normal rooms to allow greater air circulation.
  • Contactless registration and check-in process for event delegates.
  • Conference set-up’s will adhere to Government guidance.
  • Currently both Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions are allowed.
  • Small “Private Dining” bookings are permitted to go ahead. 
  • Events will be held in larger than normal rooms to allow greater air circulation.

  • All Staff will have their temperatures checked on arrival for work, staff who have a raised temperature will be advised to go home and seek medical advice.
  • Additional PPE will be available to all staff to use where appropriate.
  • Hand Washing procedures to be implement for every team.
  • Office based staff will continue to work from home as much as possible.

Recycling of Materials

  • We make a conscious effort to recycle all waste materials including glass, paper, cardboard and food. 
In-House Green Team 
  • We have implemented a dedicated team to explore and actively implement CSR within the hotel. The green team meets on a regular basis to work in initiatives and schemes to ensure the hotel keeps moving forward with being sustainable, environmentally aware, community driven and charitable. 
LED Lighting
  • As an ongoing project we are replacing all normal lighting with LED lighting. LED lights are up to 80% more efficient than traditional lighting. 95% of the energy in LED's are converted into light and only 5% is wasted as heat.
Water
  • We use recycled glass water bottles for our conferences and in-house guests, filled from our own IN-HOUSE water plant. 
Vegetable Garden
  • We use our own supply of seasonal vegetables grown in our gardens and compost all our waste vegetables back into the ground for fertilizer. 
Charity
  • Our chosen charity is Pink Ribbon Foundation, we actively fund-raise to support this cause
