We are excited to announce the launch of our very own bespoke Down Hall Garden Gin.
Infused with delightful citrus and floral notes, this carefully crafted spirit has been delicately blended with different botanicals, foraged from our very own kitchen garden and across our 110-acre estate. Bay leaves, wild mint, lemon verbena, rosemary and nasturtium leaves all come together with timeless juniper berries, coriander seeds and angelica root to create a lasting flavour and an intensely smooth modern gin.
We are proud to have partnered with local and sustainable distillery, Essex Spirits Co, who have a zero-waste sustainability ethos and use cutting-edge modern distillation methods to get the most out of our ingredients. The distillation process uses vacuum pot stills meaning it takes places at a lower temperature (20-40°C) in comparison to traditional methods which are around 80°C. Not only does this use 50-75% less energy than traditional distillation, but also the lower temperatures are softer on the ingredients to preserve and maintain the delicate citrus and floral flavours.
Down Hall Garden Gin (40% ABV) will be available at the hotel’s Fox Bar, Terrace and Garden Room Restaurant and to purchase by the bottle.
