The Glow Well Ladies & Gentlemen’s Hack at Down Hall Hotel is back...with a few exciting additions!
Monday 26th August - From 11am
This wonderful hacking event is open to riders, offering a picturesque route around the 110 acres of woodlands & grounds, plus ‘brunch bites’ before setting off, there’s also afternoon tea available upon return & prizes for the best turned out combinations.
Riders are invited to enjoy the new & extended route of 5 miles in pairs & trios, following a marked trail. Individual riders are welcome to enter & will be matched up with a suitable partner. The route takes riders around the private estate through the 110 acres of woodland & open fields.
The hack is a pleasure ride to take at a ‘leisurely pace’ with opportunities for trotting & cantering. New for this year, there will be some small optional jumps to add to the enjoyment. Combinations will begiven a time slot to begin the ride, there will be professional photographers including Elizabeth Ebsworth; well know fine art & equestrian photographer at the start of the ride for an individual mini photo shoot outside the stunning main house for each horse & rider combination, as well as other photographers on the route to capture the action.
Attendees will also be offered brunch ahead of their hack with dishes curated by our Executive Chef Robert Pearce. Riders are also able to complete the day with a delightful English Afternoon Tea in the hotels beautiful newly refurbished lounge or on the terrace overlooking the gardens. While the riders are enjoying a selection of teas & handmade cakes & pastries, the horses will be able to sample carrots from the Down Hall Kitchen Garden.
Tickets for the hacking event start at £95 for each horse & rider combination, which includes brunch & a personal mini photoshoot.
Afternoon tea is an additional £40 per adult & £20 per child. Spectators are charged at £5 per person.
